Most people love pet cats, and keeping cats become more and more fashionable. Cats’ fur is so soft that makes even everybody wants to hug them. But actually cats are hoping you won’t give into the urge.
Probably you would like to see your friends or neighbors to pet your cat, but you must do not want to see them pet your beloved.
The most common mistake people make when they are petting cats is that they often pat cats’ heads or bodies like what they do dogs. Dogs might love the way you treat them, but lots of cats do not. Sometimes, they would attack you. If you persist, you will be lucky enough to be bitten.
The second mistake people make to cats is that they always rub their stomachs. Cats may enjoy rubbing for a little while, but frequent expose of their bellies will make them irritated if you take a close look at them. There are some subtle signs for this. When they feel joyless, they will narrow their eyes, lay back their ears and swish their tails rapidly.
How to pet cats correctly? To begin with, you should pet them gently from top of heads to lower backs. You should take care of their fur in the natural directions.
When you are petting cats in a proper way, you can receive joyful and pleasant responses from the cats, which encourage you to pet their backs for longer time. Also, you probably get rewarded by content purring for return visits.
Tugging cats’ ears, tails, furs and legs is forbidden. You can gently pet their feet or paws, however, if they do not like that, how severe the scratch depends on the situation.
Like dogs, cats are wonderful companion as well. If you pet your beloved in correct way, it will welcome your cuddling and show you affection too.
